11/17 Ad Hoc Advisory Committee Organizational Meeting

Community Stakeholders:

Attached is the agenda for the organizational meeting of the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on South Flow Arrivals. The meeting will take place on Friday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Committee Room of the “Wing” in San José City Hall located at 200 East Santa Clara Street in San José. Parking should be available in the underground garage of City Hall. The garage entrance is on Sixth Street, between Santa Clara and San Fernando Streets. Please bring your parking ticket and we will be able to validate it if you park in the City Hall underground garage. We will not be able to validate tickets for parking in any other garages in the vicinity of City Hall. 

This inaugural meeting will not get into the substance of the south flow issue. Its focus will be on getting the Committee organized to carry out its charge. Towards that end, the meeting will walk through the scope of the Committee’s charge and the parameters adopted by the San José City Council in authorizing the Committee. The Committee will also be asked to adopt a high-level work plan to help guide the Committee’s review effort. The staff reports to the City Council recommending the formation of the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee are also provided as background information. 

The Committee will elect a chair and a vice-chair. The newly elected chair will take over the managing of the meeting immediately after being elected. Committee members will hear brief remarks from the Airport’s Director of Aviation, San José Councilmember and Ad Hoc Committee member Raul Peralez (who will be speaking on behalf of Mayor Sam Liccardo, who will not be able to attend the meeting) and Dennis Roberts, FAA Regional Administrator for the Western-Pacific Region.
